A poem for Christmas

Another Christmas


Hanging the lights on the tree
my home smells like Christmas
the pine branches loaded with ornaments
filled with memories

Seems like it was Christmas
just a while ago but no,
a year has passed and here I am
decorating the manger..

Few figures are left after
all these years perhaps the most
importantones are left
the angel, the sacred family
and a little lamb...

I turn off the lights and look
at the lighted tree it shines,
it looks nice and I smile..

Another Christmas
presents, family and joy
grandchildren to tell
the story of the wise men
and the little star...
